BOISE, Idaho - Eight men say they either had sex with Sen. Larry Craig or were targets of sexual advances by the Idaho lawmaker at various times during his political career, a newspaper reported Sunday.Isn't this special? Senator Larry Craig who claims "I am not gay" seems to have himself in a bit of a bind - a bind he's created by his inability to admit what is obvious.
One of the men is the former escort whose allegations disgraced the Rev. Ted Haggard, former president of the National Association of Evangelicals, the Idaho Statesman reported.
Larry, I don't care if you are gay, straight, or like to have sex with chickens. None of that matters. What matters most is that you are in a very powerful and persuasive public position. The residents of Idaho and for that matter the rest of the United States, trust you to make solid decisions on everyone's behalf. Your continual denial of what is so obvious brings into question your ability to know the difference between whats good for everyone and whats best for Larry Craig.
Its really unfortunate also that you are not only trapped in your closet but also trapped in the Repignofascist Party. If you were liberal nobody would care. You could be openly out (look at Barney Frank) and there would be no fingers pointed or snickers made. But you belong to the Repignofascist Party - the party of "god" as Tom DeLay once called it. The party that has no problem probing in other people's bedrooms to dig up dirt on them. The party that has no problem interfering in the affairs of a brain dead woman and her husband. The party that refuses to allow gay couples to be in recognized civil unions.
You are a part of all that Larry. And that is what makes your continuing saga so funny. You sleep in the bed you make, Larry. And it looks like your bed is actually a toilet stall. Can we now stick a fork in you because you're done? Or will you persist? I hope its the latter. Your continued presence in the Senate makes the chances for the Democrats to take a seat in Idaho so much rosier.
Hey - if he leaves now, he still has a chance to lobby for the Log Cabin Republicans before the new law takes effect!!!
