It's almost common place now to read that X more American kids were killed by roadside bombs in Iraqnam.
BAGHDAD - Four more U.S. soldiers were killed in roadside bombings in the Baghdad area, including three in a single strike, the military said Tuesday, raising to at least 19 the number of troop deaths in the first week of August.
The numbers signaled a resurgence in attacks after July saw the lowest number of U.S. casualties in eight months. U.S. commanders have warned they expected militants to try to upstage a September report on military and economic progress in Iraq.
My political party, the party that promised a year ago during the campaign for the 2006 election to put a stop to this carnage is hamstrung and ineffective. The Democrats cave into a 'president' with a 25 percent approval rating because they are afraid to be labeled as against the troops and against the war. Such utter bullshit.
I'm hoping that in 2008 we run candidates who are not afraid of the party of smear and are not afraid to do the job they were elected to do. The current crop of wimps would be laughable if it were not for the carnage that they enable each and every day.
