John Edwards Now Leads in Iowa Polling

A new InsiderAdvantage poll in Iowa shows John Edwards leading among likely caucus-goers with 30% support, followed by Sen. Hillary Clinton at 26% and Sen. Barack Obama at 24%.
This is encouraging news on several fronts. Unfortunately its not Al Gore in the lead but thankfully its not Hillary either.

The other good news is this. If you look back in history, only one "northerner" has been elected President since Franklin Roosevelt - and that was John Kennedy. Everyone else has been from the south or from California. If history repeats itself this year, because of the strong influence of southern religious wingnuts in both parties, its likely the 2008 President will also be from the south.

Mitt and Rudy are out because of their geography as are Hillary and Barack and Chris Dodd. That leaves John Edwards and Mike Huckleberry. Huckleberry is one scary dude with all of his Baptist fanaticism mantra. The only hope against that, in the absence of Al Gore, is John Edwards.
