How Would You Stop Wasteful Government Spending?

John McCain and his bullshit express have a story going on right now on yahoo.com news asking the public how it would stop wasteful government spending (click on the post title for the link).

Not wanting to miss an opportunity to tell Senator Snarl what I thought, I posted the following reply.

All spending that comes from Washington originates from the House and Senate Appropriations Committees. Not one penny that any politician gloats about we government employees spending "wastefully" exists until the Appropriations Committees tell Federal employees to spend the money. We do what Congress tells us to do and we spend what and where and how Congress tells us to spend.

Given that the Bush Crime Family and its Repugnican cohorts in the Congress have, for the last six years, bankrupted the nation while telling us we are "safe" from "turists", I would suggest that to stop wasteful government spending we throw EVERY Repugnican member of the House and Senate out to the street. They along with Bush squandered a huge budget surplus built up by Bill Clinton. They seem to be the problem. I would love nothing more than to have all 435 members of the House and 100 members of the Senate sitting on the D side of the aisle.

Much needed oversight of government programs, now possible because adults are in the majority of the House and (barely) the Senate, will reveal just how badly the Repugnicans have bungled things in the last 6 years. Oversight is where wasteful government spending will stop. Source(s) My source is any news outlet other than the Faux Noise Network, and Rush Limbaugh.
