What Will It Take to Impeach This Idiot?

In response to an article in this week's Newsweek (click on the post title to see the article)I sent the following letter to my two Senators and my Congressman this morning. Copy the letter and send it to your members also. This arrogant asshole in the White House needs to be removed NOW while we still have some democracy remaining in the country.


Dear Senators Warner and Webb, and Congressman Moran

Please let me and others in Virginia, and the nation for that matter, know just how much more Congress is going to put up with before you impeach, try, and remove George Bush from office?

This article from the current week's online version of Newsweek is but another reason Bush needs to be removed from office. And soon.

Despite all of the political niceties that are being spewed, and all of the folks falling on their sword taking the blame for giving the president "bad intelligence" anyone with the IQ of a woodchuck knows that the CIA and others were pressured to produce "intelligence" that fit the White House policy. Unlike any other time in history, the policy on Iraqnam was made and the intelligence found to justify it, rather than the intelligence forming the policy.

And what did that strong-arming and bullying (by Dick Cheney) get us? It got the Neocons everything they wanted. It gave the rest of us a $700 Billion dollar debacle from which it will take forever and a day to extract ourselves. Now we have Bush doing the exact same thing with Iran.

Exactly the same thing. If you had a staffer with the time to devote to it, I'm sure you could take any of Bush/Cheney woe-is-us speeches on the "threat" Iraq posed, remove the word "Iraq" and replace it with "Iran" and you'll have the same recycled speeches 5 years later. We have lost the war in Iraq. We have lost the war in Afghanistan. Because Bush lacks mental capacity AND testosterone, we are about to start World War III which given our past record we are surely to lose also.

What on earth will it take for the Congress to get off its collective collegial ass and take the steps needed to remove Bush and Cheney NOW? The time for talking nice is past. This man and his Administration are a menace to this country and do nothing to protect us. Hell, now even Barbados, a 21 square mile island in the Caribbean, hates the United States. Does that make you feel "safer"? It doesn't me.

Please, please, please, take the actions necessary, today, to get Bush out of office and get this nation back on the right track. We need you to act and we need it done now. What little democracy there is remaining in this country cannot take 709 more days of Bush and company.

I would appreciate knowing, be it in a floor speech, a news release, or a rant on CNN, that you take this seriously and intend to move forward with doing whats right for the country, not whats right for collegiality.
