Democracy Preserved in Venezuela

CARACAS, Venezuela - Humbled by his first electoral defeat ever, President Hugo Chavez said Monday he may have been too ambitious in asking voters to let him stand indefinitely for re-election and endorse a huge leap to a socialist state.

"I understand and accept that the proposal I made was quite profound and intense," he said after voters narrowly rejected the sweeping constitutional reforms by 51 percent to 49 percent.
Reports later today told about the Bush Abomination's glee that democracy had been preserved in Venezuela.

The irony of that statement is that what Chavez put to a vote in Venezuela is exactly what the Chimp has been trying to implement by Executive Order and/or simply blowing off the law, for much of the seven very long years he's been in office.

When it comes to wanting to take away human rights, Bush has no business pointing a finger at Hugo Chavez.
