Bush's Economic Legacy Continues ....Downward

The Ministry of Culture [India]has begun insisting that tourists visiting the country’s monuments, including the Taj Mahal, pay the entrance fees in rupees rather than in dollars. Entrance to many sites for foreign tourists is priced in dollars and then converted to rupees, but the ministry has been losing tourism revenue as the dollar slid more than 12 percent this year against the rupee. The government had fixed a $5 entrance fee for World Heritage sites like the Taj Mahal and Humayun’s Tomb and $2 for other monuments at a time when the dollar was worth about 50 rupees. It is now worth around 39 rupees. The new rate for Heritage sites is 250 rupees, meaning a foreign tourist will pay the equivalent of about $6.50.
J.H.Christ. Its bad enough that the exchange rate on the pound sterling is greater than $2.00 US per pound, and its disgusting that the exhange rate of the US Dollar to the Euro is about $1.50 US to the Euro, but now not only has the US dollar lost value against the Indian Rupee, but now the Indians won't accept the US dollar at tourist sites.

Anyone who has traveled internationally knows from experience that in virtually any country you visit, no matter if its "first" world or "third" world, all you need to do is pull out the US dollar and whatever you wanted is yours. No more.

When the economy of India (for Christ's sake) is so robust that they can tell carriers of US dollars that they should shove their greenbacks up their Cheney, you know that we are Hosed with a capital H.

And its all happened under the "management" of the totally inept bastards in the Bush Administration. Everything in this country in the last 6 years has been FUBAR solely and exclusively by the Bushies. Although Rush and Sham Hannity will try to blame Clinton, anyone with more brains than a gnat recognizes that the economic demise of this once-great nation can be laid squarely at the hands of Chimpy McFlightsuit. Pure and simple.

When the Democrat is inaugurated on January 20, 2009, HE is going to have one hell of a mess to fix. But at least HE will have a mega Democratic majority of HIS party to work with to fix the horrible 8 years of mismanagement that the horse's cheney living in the White House now has created.

Wake up sheeple.
