Letter to Congress Demanding Action on Impeachment

I just sent this email to my Congressman, Jim Moran (D-VA) through his office website. If you feel similarly copy the email and send it to your Congressman. Enough of this foolishness is enough.

Dear Congressman Moran

I am writing again to implore you to use whatever power and influence you have in the House to have impeachment proceedings initiated for at least George Bush and Dick Cheney.

On August 21, 1977, I took an oath to uphold and defend the constitution when I began my first day as a Federal employee. It is the same oath you have taken each and every time you have been sworn in as the Congressman from the 8th Congressional District of Virginia.

Right now the Constitution is in more dire need of upholding and defending than at any other time in the history of this nation. Yet the Democrats in charge of the House of Representatives refuse to bring Articles of Impeachment against these criminals claiming that there are higher priorities in Congress than impeachment.

What on earth is a higher priority than defending the Constitution and ensuring that we remain a democracy?

Word will come back that "we don't have the votes in the Senate" to have a successful trial and removal. So what? You were elected to represent the people. It is the overwhelming will of the people that Bush and Cheney be impeached. So what if you dont have the votes in the Senate? The people who elected you and the 434 other members demand impeachment. This is commonly called the "will of the people."

Each and every day you and your colleagues sit idly and allow Bush and Cheney to continue thumbing their noses at the Constitution and the rule of law you and your colleagues are abrogating your responsibilities to the Constitution you swore to uphold as well as your responsibilities to the people who elected you.

Bring articles of impeachment. Show some spine. You once became so upset with Randy "Duke" Cunningham that you chased him from the well of the House and cornered him in a closet where you found him crying and begging you not to hit him.

Where is that fervor and passion today, Congressman? Why aren't you chasing John Boehner into a closet and throttling him?

Do what the people want done. Thats all we ask. By not bringing articles of impeachment against Bush and Cheney you reinforce the belief that the Democrats in the House are a bunch of pussies. The minority party tells the people that daily, and yet nobody in my party will stand up and say "bullshit." Holding endless hearings that result in no legal action against the crooks in the Administration is nothing but theatrics.

Do something about impeaching Bush and Cheney. Do it now. We the people implore you and your Democratic colleagues to take action. Do what you were elected to do. Defend the Constitution not your backside.
