Repignicans And Their Selective Interpretation of the Bible

Since before the start of the 2000 campaign for Al Gore's job, we have heard Bush and other Reichwing nuts repeatedly talk about how Repignicans are religious. In fact in his speech at the 2000 Repignican convention in Philadelphia, Bugmeister and former Congressman Tom DeLay said to the assmebled masses that "we are the party of God."

Not long after taking office we learned that in one of his first attacks on the Constitution, Bush started his "Office of Faith-Based Initiatives", a cover phrase for funneling public money (that would be yours and mine) into the hands of "religious" groups claiming to be able to help people better than government can. We have seen in 6.5 very long years what a colossal flop that was.

We also know that, among other things, former Attorney General John Ashcroft used to hold prayer meetings each morning at 8:00 a.m. in the Justice Department building. This was in direct contradiction of the First Amendment and the concept of the "separation of church and state."

Nobody seemed to care that the Bush Administration was using "god" and "christ" and other cosmic dieties to foist their religious beliefs down the throat of the body politic. These actions also seem to suggest that Repignicans are staunchly religious and they let religion and their belief in it guide their every move.

That being the case its curious to pull up the christian "10 Commandments" and look at Commandment # 9 that states "Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor."

False witness is ancient-speak for "lie" and "neighbor" is anyone around you or near you.

Translated from which ever version of the King James bible they are using today, the Ninth Commandment tells all good little Christian Repignicans that they should not lie. It is a "sin" in their eyes to lie. Lying therefore should be a big issue. you would think that the last people on earth to bear false witness against their neighbor or their neighbors neighbor would be a Repignican. Lets look at the record however.

Here is a summary of 20 lies in just one speech.

BushWatch has a huge compendium of Bush Lies

Author David Corn has written an entire book about Bush's lies.

Here's another list of Bush Lies.

And its not just Bush who lies. Here are a few of Dick Cheney's

And here are some of Gitmo Al's

And lets not forget the lies of Condi Rice.

All of these people claim to be religious and all of them adhere to the Repignican Party mantra and a big part of the Repignican Party mantra is that "we are the party of god". That being the case, I hope there really is a Judgement Day some day and I hope there is a hell because I want to watch each of these lying bastards with the devils hot poker up their asses as they are led to their reward for lying.

Maybe the problem is that Bill Clinton didn't teach them the 9th Commandment when they were all in Sunday School? Maybe that is how they will try to weasel out of breaking their "gods" commandment. Of course. Its Bill Clinton's fault.
