Washington - President Bush has no better friends than the spineless Democratic congressional leadership and the party's leading presidential candidates when it comes to his failing Iraq policy.I met Helen Thomas several years ago after she made the truthful statement that George Bush was likely the "dumbest man ever to be President." I saw her at National Airport, introduced myself and thanked her for telling the truth about Bush. She very sheepishly replied to me saying "I think I may be in a lot of trouble for saying that." I told her she did the right thing.
Those Democrats seem to have forgotten that the American people want U.S. troops out of Iraq, especially since Bush still cannot give a credible reason for attacking Iraq after nearly five years of war.
A week later the Chimp and his hatchet men removed Helen from being first in line to ask a question at a White House "News" conference. Their form of punishment for her telling the truth about the Chimp.
Now, in another stunningly frank and truthful situation Helen says what needs to be said about the gutless and spineless members of my own political party who are, for the moment, in the "leadership" of the House and the Senate.
Everything Helen Thomas says here about the Democrats is right on the money. I wonder if her punishment will be Nancy Pelosi getting up the nerve to impeach someone and she impeaches Helen instead of the Chimp?

Dear Helen.
Here's who I found. Besides Independents, the Democrats are the party I favor. Barely.
With that, based on his voting record, his health care plan and his stand on the war, Dennis Kucinich is my pick, and most of our listeners as well.
He's right in front of our noses but unless he's a top tier candidate, the press isn't paying attention. Pity .. because we are.
Too bad you're not looking hard enough, Helen, to have asked that question.
