Evangelical voters gathered here yesterday to weigh their political options even as one of their champions, Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas, officially withdrew from the 2008 presidential contest, robbing many of their first choice in the Republican nominating battle.In the run up to the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraqnam, Bush warned us that if we didn't take out Saddam Hussein that there might be a "mushroom cloud" over the United States.
Given the number and type of people attending this Evangelical whackjob summit, I think its unfortunate that the mushroom cloud Bush warned us about couldn't materialize at the site of this meeting.
