Arabic Translator Fired for Being Gay

For all the bluff and bluster that Bush puts out about fighting "turists" you'd think he would want people fluent in the Arabic language in his armed forces. People who can translate and understand what is being said in the communications between Osama bin Forgotten and his minions. Dubya wants that but ONLY if it means that the translator is straight. If that person is gay, it makes no difference whatsoever to the Chimp and his policies. A gay Arabic translator is bad news and can't be allowed to serve his/her country.

Since ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ became law, over 11,000 servicemembers have been discharged because of their sexuality. The number of servicemembers who have left on their own volition, or have decided not to re-enlist because of this law is not documented. The government has spent over $363 million dollars in taxpayer money to implement this unfair legislation. Dozens of other countries, many of whom have fought side-by-side with our soldiers, allow lesbians, gays and bisexuals to serve openly. Those are the facts and they have nothing to do with a servicemembers passion and skill to perform his duty.

A year ago I found a job description for Arabic interpreters posted on the web by CACI, a pro-Bush all the way consulting firm with offices two blocks from mine in suburban Virginia. The starting salary for the position was $100,000 a year with a bonus if you 1) survived and 2) wanted to stay on a second year. Under qualifications the job description said "ability to speak Arabic a plus." DUH!! This is a job for Arabic speaking people to translate Arabic to English so the evildoers in the Bush Administration can understand whats being said. My guess is that CACI would fire people from these jobs if those individuals' orientation wasn't up to the beliefs of the loyal Bushies also.
