Here is the most telling quote in the story:
"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001 ], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country," Milligan said.
What sick bastards!! All the Republic Party cares about is winning. They could give a rats rectum about your safety or mine. Its all about winning elections.
In response to this story I sent the following letter to the editor of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Do the same if you agree.
LETTER:
Dear Editor:
I hope that you and every other person in Arkansas is beyond appalled and disgusted with the words from the Chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, Dennis Milligan.
How dare he wish there would be another 9/11 attack on American soil. How dillusional is this man? He thinks the Republican Party will shine if the nation is attacked and people can see how decisive George Bush is in response?
I ask the Chairman these questions: who was it who, upon receiving a Presidential Daily Briefing on August 6, 2001, titled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike Inside the United States" went fishing?
Who was it on September 11, 2001, who, upon being told that the World Trade Center was being attacked, sat in a room full of kindergarten students and read a book about a goat?
Who was it who sat idly by as one of the greatest city's in the nation drowned after a hurricane, and instead of taking action stayed at a political fund raiser in San Diego?
The answer to all my questions is George Bush.
And Mr. Milligan wants us to have another attack so we can see how decisive Bush is in a crisis? Save me and save us.
Craig Faanes
