This is great news!!! The purging of slime from the Congress continues. Granted we live in a country where the meme is "innocent until proven guilty" (unless you're a father in court on a child support issue). However given what we know about Congressman Jefferson and the packs of money in his freezer (among other things) I hope he is lining up someone to watch over his belongings for a few years while he lounges around with Duke Cunninghmam, Jerry Lewis, Tom DeLay, and other embarassments of the 109th Congress.
Yes, Jefferson is a Democrat and I'm elated. He was elected to a high position in government where he was trusted by his constituents to be above board and look out for their general well-being. If Jefferson did what he's accused of doing, I want the punishment to be even more severe because he is a Democrat. He should have known better and didn't. He deserves no mercy from anyone who puts the good of the people above their own personal needs.
Congressman Jefferson - Leavenworth, Kansas is pretty this time of year. If nothing else you'll see lots of Scissor-tailed Flycatchers while US Marshall's take you on your last ride for a few years when they deposit you there. Good riddance.
