Mr Ego Threatens to Return

Having already proven three times that he is not capable of winning a Presidential election, Ralph Nader was making noises this weekend about a potential fourth unsuccessful bid for the White House.

Can you believe this?

Asked what the point of a fourth unsuccessful campaign would be, Nader told the Politico, “What third parties can do is bring young people in, set standards on how to run a presidential election and keep the progressive agenda in front of the people. And maybe tweak a candidate here and there in the major parties.”

What Nader forgets to mention is that he gets a huge ego rush from running. He also fails to mention that had he not run in 2000 George Bush wouldn't be 'president' today. Even if you accept that Bush received more votes than Gore in Florida in 2000, Nader received something like 97,000 votes in that state. Certainly most of those votes would have been in the D column rather than Naders and we wouldn't have had the man-child living in the White House today.

Nader also conveniently forgets to mention that the biggest contributor to his 2000 and 2004 campaigns was the campaign of George Bush. This may have something to do with the swipes he takes at the Democrats in this piece from USA Today.

Ralph Nader cares about Ralph Nader and nothing more. The point of another futile run in 2008 is simply to pump a little testosterone into his system. What a complete loser.
